Dimond Public Art Artists

Pam Consear
Pam is an artist and a writer, and the founder of All Hands Art, an effort to encourage more people, young and old, to make things and discover their creative selves. Her “simple recipe for healing the world: Make art. Share what you make. Oh, and do it with love.” In addition to Pam’s two pieces in the Dimond, she has also done murals at Oakland Tech and Oakland International high schools, Redwood Heights Elementary School, Bret Harte Middle School, and Fred Finch Family & Youth Services. See Pam’s website.

Gina Dominguez
Gina studied mosaic techniques in Spain and began making mosaics in her Oakland home studio in 1995. She says, “What I love about mosaics is that you create something by breaking something. Oakland is a mosaic of people, and these mosaic projects really emulate what’s going on in this city. There is so much joy and vitality.” See Gina’s website.

Querido Galdo
Querido is a graphic designer, photographer, and collage artist living and working in Oakland. He creates engaging visual communications for non-profit and community organizations, documentary photographs of Oakland’s natural and man-made environment, and public art projects. See Querido’s website.

Robin Gibson
Robin is a muralist, designer, educator and mother of three who lives in Oakland. She studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and Stanford University. She explored the intersection of history, cultural mores, and art before deciding to become an educator. Robin’s other Oakland murals include Breonna Taylor Birthday (The Peoples Conservatory), Ali (Boxing for Health), and Mack House (McClymonds High School). See Robin’s website.

Griffin One
Sean Griffin (aka Griffin One) is an Oakland-based professional aerosol muralist and designer with graffiti roots. In his own words, “Each [of my pieces] tells a unique dream-scape story somewhere between time, function, the familiar and the unknown.” His work appears widely in the Bay Area and beyond. He’s also a pioneer of “live art,” creating art in performance at events such as Outside Lands in San Francisco. See Griffin One’s website.

Kristi Holohan
Kristi is a member of Rock Paper Scissors, a volunteer art collective that hosts community workshops, youth programs, college internships, and social justice and experimental art exhibitions. She is also the founder of Arts and Creative Expression (ACE Arts). She is an arts educator and consultant, a community-engaged advocate, and an environmentalist. Kristi’s many other Oakland murals include “Dreams of Champions” on Champion St. between School St. and Nicol Ave., “Sausal on My Mind” at the Dimond Park Recreation Center, and selected murals inside the Montclair parking garage. See Kristi’s website.

Debra Koppman
Debra has lived in the Dimond since the 1990s and has created some 15 murals and mosaics in the area. After teaching art at Sequoia Elementary School for 18 years, she became completely dedicated to murals. When possible, Debra works with community members in the design and/or execution of her large-scale pieces. She is especially interested in transforming and enlivening otherwise nondescript spaces. See Debra’s website.

Amanda Lockwood
Amanda holds an Ed. BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts. She worked for many years with the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland and taught art to kindergartners and first-graders at Sequoia Elementary School. She has also worked in professional development art programs for teachers and helped develop art curriculum in public schools. It is deeply important to her to support arts locally.
